Ducks Announce 2011-2012 Regular Season Schedule

Ducks Open 19th NHL Year in Europe as part of the 2011 Compuware NHL Premiere;

Anaheim Home Opener Slated for Oct. 14 vs. Pacific Division rival San Jose

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The National Hockey League (NHL) today announced the complete regular season schedule for the 2011-12 NHL campaign. The Ducks will open their 19th year in the NHL as one of four teams participating in the 2011 Compuware NHL Premiere in Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden. Anaheim begins the season against the Buffalo Sabres on Friday, Oct. 7 at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki before moving to Stockholm to play the New York Rangers on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Ericsson Globe Arena.
Following the 2011 Compuware NHL Premiere, the Ducks will return to the U.S. to host the Pacific Division rival San Jose Sharks in their 2011-12 Home Opener on Friday, Oct. 14 at Honda Center (7:05 p.m.). Anaheim’s 2011-12 regular season schedule includes 82 games in total, 40 at Honda Center, 40 on the road in North American venues and two in Europe. For the fourth consecutive season, the Ducks will play six games against Pacific Division opponents (24 games total), four games against each non-divisional Western Conference team (40 games), and 18 contests against Eastern Conference opponents. Anaheim will play each NHL team at least once in 2011-12, including the newly-relocated Winnipeg franchise on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the MTS Centre.
Highlights from the home schedule include visits from the Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins on Sunday, Mar. 25 (5:05 p.m.), Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday, Nov. 27 (5:05 p.m.), Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, Nov. 30 (7:05 p.m.), and Philadelphia Flyers on Friday, Dec. 2 (7:05 p.m.). The Ducks will also host the Chicago Blackhawks for their annual day-after Thanksgiving game on Friday, Nov. 25 and the Colorado Avalanche for the second consecutive New Year’s Eve game at Honda Center on Saturday, Dec. 31 (5:05 p.m.). The Ducks will play home and road games versus the Sabres, Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes, and take on every other Eastern Conference team once. Other Eastern Conference teams to visit Anaheim in 2011-12 include the New York Islanders (Jan. 6) and Ottawa Senators (Jan. 21). Anaheim will face its Southern California rival Los Angeles Kings at Honda Center on Thurs., Nov. 17 (7:05 p.m.), Tues., Dec. 6 (7:05 p.m.) and Fri., Mar. 16 (7:05 p.m.)
The Ducks will host nine Friday contests, two Saturday games and 12 Sunday contests in 2011-12. November and March will serve as the busiest months of the season at Honda Center, with eight games scheduled in each month. In addition, there are four games scheduled for October, six for December and February, seven for January, and one for April. Anaheim will have a pair of season-long six-game homestands, including Nov. 25-Dec. 6 and Dec. 29-Jan. 10.  The Ducks will compete in 12 sets of back-to-back games this season, three fewer than 2010-11 and five fewer than 2009-10.
Individual regular season tickets for all Ducks games at Honda Center will go on sale in September. Anaheim Ducks Announce 2011-2012 Pre-Season Schedule

The Anaheim Ducks today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club’s 2011 preseason schedule. The Ducks will compete in seven preseason contests before the start of the club’s 2011-12 regular season campaign in October.

The Ducks will open the 2011 preseason schedule with back-to-back contests at Honda Center, taking on the Phoenix Coyotes on Sept. 20 (7:05 p.m.) and San Jose Sharks on Sept. 21 (7:05 p.m.). The club will participate in home-and-home exhibition contests against San Jose, Vancouver and Los Angeles, and face Phoenix once in preseason competition. Following three consecutive road games in San Jose, Vancouver and Los Angeles from Sept. 23-25, the Ducks will wrap up their exhibition schedule with home games on Sept. 28 vs. Vancouver (7:05 p.m.) and Sept. 30 vs. Los Angeles (7:05 p.m.).
